Greetings. On this forum I am going by the name of Marya.

I've recently learned about Aristasia, and I am very much intrigued. I do not believe that I could ever be a "proper" aristasian, because I am certainly not an essentialist. I self identify as a radical feminist, which an introductionary article labelled as incredibly pittish! Also, I am a student of computer science, practically addicted to technology, and media. I am certain, modest as folk in my life see me, that several of my interests would perhaps be considered vulgar in an Aristasian sense. All the same I am interested in Aristasia, and I feel I would like to make contact with Aristasians. I personally have a desire to be a good person, I am... forthright in my opinions, I attempt to be as respectful as I can with others, I enjoy dialogging though I am incredibly anxious, and submissive. I have trouble identifying with either aristasian sex, because I can be simultaneously a forthright strong figure, whilst being anxious, afraid and submissive.

I enjoy beautiful, pretty things. I... get easily distressed by the state of the world, and beautiful things, especially clothing, give me cheer. I like the idea of a group of women, working towards their own self-identities, aiming to be responsible and respectful, and enjoying themselves.

It is a pleasure to meet you all.

Welcome honored Miss Marya. Delighted to hear from you and I hope we shall meet you soon!

Many of us are keen on technology - in fact it is a very common Aristasian interest. As for feminism - well it isn't really an issue in Aristasia since we are all feminine, and we may possibly be talking at cross-purposes about Essentialism. Feminine Essentialism is a very particular philosophy and not the same as any philosophy current in Telluria.

Don't worry about your sex. That will doubtless become clearer over time. Aristasian sexes are quite subtle - that is, we do not necessarily correspond to any particular stereotypes. Brunettes may be delicate, blondes may be dashing. So what is it that makes a blonde or a brunette - it is hard to say in a few words (or even many) - it is just a thing you come to know.

Thank you for introducing yourself, and we look forward to making your acquaintance in person.

I understand how differences in sex can be subtle. Of course, not being well versed as I could be in Aristasian life I am only able to make tellurian sort of comparisons, or points of reference, but I understand that there are girly men, and manly women, and whatnot., Stereotypes don't say everything? I am afraid I have had a few drinks and I am not sure of my staements.

Thankyou for giving me a kind welcome.

I can imagine how feminism wouldn't be an issue in Aristasia, as it is comprised of ourely females, but I do have isues with oppression in general, and on a viceral level hierachies can honestly scare me! I've not seen or understood much of Aristasian ways of life, but as I understand it, sense of hierachies are important?

On the note of meeting in person, I live in Australia.

Oh again! I felt I wanted to add this in my introduction, but forgot: This is a deviant art journal I have, it shows how I like to show off my attire. (I feel whimsical saying as such, which I think is nice.) http://celria.deviantart.com/gallery/

I feel an increasing need to apologize for any social mistakes. I see I have made a number f spelling and grammar errors, I do apologize especially if this is seen as a sign of disrespect.

I am delighted to meet you, Miss Marya.

I think your pictures are delightful. I think that the main thing about whether one is suited to being Aristasian is whether one really wants to be GOOD. The Pit tells us it is good to be bad (and bad - or at least weak - to be good).

Of course it is difficult to be good in a place like the Pit - and rather uncertain at times what good is. But if you were looking for a place of goodness and a place where one is free - and safe - to be good, then I think Aristasia is a thing you will love.

Welcome, Miss Marya. You say you are addicted to technics as if that were a bad thing. I think in Telluria technics are seen as being anti-traditional and perhaps a teensy bit naughty. In Aristasia though it is quite different

Quote:
Novarya led the movement that was the equivalent of the Tellurian "scientific revolution" and it must be noted that it was a much longer process than the Tellurian equivalent and that it was not in the least "Revolutionary". Far from being founded on a rejection of traditional Intellectuality in favor the doctrines of empiricism and rationalism it was a continuation and development of traditional Intellectuality and an application of them to later-Iron-Age conditions. Furthermore, it was born out of a culture that was not only not Revolutionary, but was more intensely traditionalist than the surrounding Westrenne cultures - and even than its mother-culture in Rayapurh.

This is important to understand because it is very contrary to the Tellurian understanding of science and technics. Novaria is not technical despite being ultra-traditional, but because of it.
